About Rochelle Best
Who I Am
Growing up in Switzerland gave me an intense appreciation for the importance of hard work and attention to detail. My affinity for diversity and multiculturalism grew out of my time as a citizen traveling within the four distinct regions of the country. As a child and young adult my family, like so many Swiss, traveled extensively, seeing and experiencing new and different countries and cultures. For many of my birthdays, I was "given"a city. These childhood experiences allowed me to see the world as the complex and fascinating global community that it truly is. I have a passion for finding ways to bring the beauty of the natural world into our interior spaces. At my core I am a mix of traditional Swiss sensibilities crossed with an enthusiasm for exploring and learning all that is new.

Design Assistant & Project Manager, Collaborative House
January 2016 - August 2017
At Collaborative House I managed every aspect of the firm's business from initial design phase through final project installations. My responsibilities included, but were not limited to, all CAD drawings for space planning and Interior Design Documentation, all contractor/architect communication and plan review, submittal review, FF&E research, all presentation material for meetings and concept design packages.
Costume Designer & Supervisor
I was in charge of the creative design process as well as the day to day running of large costume crews. I attended design, logistic and budget meetings with Directors, Set Designers, Actors and Producers involving creative and financial decisions.
Fashion Designer
I designed and costed all garments for 8 deliveries per year, ran sample rooms of 30-70 workers to deliver show room samples for all company show rooms and road sales reps. Analyzed sales reports to improve sell through of future seasons, and designed all trend forecasting presentations/look books for design and sales staff, and clients to stay current with new trends.
